Buyer Beware
There is a BIG difference between computers meant for home users and those for business professionals.
The cost difference between the machines is often minimal, but if your organization has a server and wants high quality support when you have issues you need a business-grade computer.
Businesses who share data through a server need Windows Professional. And if you buy a machine with a Windows home operating system you’ll need to pay for the operating system upgrade AND the upgrade service from your IT provider (unless you’re on a Managed Services plan).
So at the very least, before you buy, check with your IT provider to make sure your machine is compatible with your environment. It could end up saving you a few hundred dollars and a lot of wasted time!
