Cyber security has become a hot topic over the last few years. And rightfully so. Every time you turn on the news you hear about another high profile data breach. Even scarier - these breaches are occurring on a daily basis – you just don’t hear about them because many businesses don’t publicize them for fear of bad PR.
Hackers are always looking for low hanging fruit: businesses with insufficient cyber security protection. Their goal is to exploit them in order to gain access to banking credentials, client or staff data, trade secrets, and your email accounts. If they’re particularly malicious they may even try to damage your reputation.
I’m not trying to scare you – I’m just giving you the honest truth. The web is a scary place and the best way you can protect yourself is education. The more you know about cyber security the better your chances of avoiding theft, data breaches and reputational damage.
